It’s that time of year again! As it gets closer to tax season, Ann Michaels & Associates offers online tax seminars for mystery shoppers. These are hour-long online sessions presented by Carolyn Eckert, a CPA who has been in the mystery shopping industry for almost ten years.

She offers a thorough presentation that explains what deductions (you may be surprised by some of them) you can take and forms you will need to file as an independent contractor. There is a Q&A session at the end where she takes your questions.

Here are a couple of comments from shoppers who have attended past seminars:

What a GREAT seminar!!! I gained a lot of knowledge, and have the resources to investigate further. Thank you! Thank you!

Wonderful session–I have an accountant, but learned several valuable references I thought I might need before I see her again. Thanks for sponsoring this event.

The next seminar dates are Wednesday, January 19th and Wednesday, January 26th at 7:00 pm CST and the cost is $20.00. To register, please visit our website.

Hope to see you there!

The MSPA is resuming Gold Certification Courses in 2011! The first will be held in Irvine, CA on March 12th. You can get more details on this event from the MSPA website.

Cathy Stucker will be presenting this seminar, which will give you a solid base of information regarding mystery shopping. She does a fantastic job and makes this all day seminar a fun event!

It will also give you the opportunity to meet schedulers, editors, and company owners – shoppers who have attended this event have enjoyed getting to meet mystery shopping providers in person. As a company member, I can say that we’ve always enjoyed attending these events and getting to meet shoppers as well!

If you’re not familiar with the MSPA, you may wonder what it’s all about.  The Mystery Shopping Providers Association “is the largest professional trade association dedicated to improving service quality using anonymous resources. With over 400 member companies worldwide, our diverse membership includes marketing research and merchandising companies, private investigation firms, training organizations and companies that specialize in providing mystery shopping services.”

If you’re in the area and want to develop your skills, become certified, and have opportunity to increase your workload, you won’t want to miss this event!
