I’ve been on the “back end” of the industry for the last nine years, and editing has been something that has become second nature. Unfortunately, my children feel the effects of this when I’m reviewing papers and other homework.

However, it can be a good thing. My 13 year-old recently shared a cute Google Buzz entry one of her friends made that is fun to share, especially because it falls into line with how important it is to write clearly in mystery shopping reports. The entry is as follows:

Consider this sentence: “Let’s eat, Grandpa.” Now take out the comma to change the entire meaning of the sentence. Commas save lives!

Until next time…happy shopping!

Update to the Franklin Allen & Associates Situation – Good News! June 9, 2011

For those of you who read my last post on a company website that mirrored our website, I wanted to send a quick update, which has some good news. We were able to get the website removed immediately, so there should be no other issues with this company. The bad news is that we also learned that this company was attempting to use a spin of the Western Union scam on unknowing people who “registered” with this company.

If you “registered” with Franklin Allen & Associates and received an email or “assignment” that asked you to deposit a check or money order and wire funds to someone or somewhere else, please contact Marianne at mhynd@ishopforyou.com.
It is our goal to continually update and educate you all on scams like this one. Please remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

Until next time…happy shopping!
